5 Books To Help You Live Your BEST Life.

Since becoming a coach, personal development is one of the daily habits I've committed to and it has paid off in so many ways!  More confidence, bigger dreams, more motivation, and better time management....OK I'm still working on the last one but I'm better off than I used to be!  haha!  Here's a list of some my favorites with a description from the author. It was hard to choose because there are so many!  I think I'll have to do a part 2 list and I'll also do a favorite list based on faith books for those of you looking for devotionals or other books to help grow in your faith!

Do you have a favorite????  Comment below so I can check it out!

1.  Mastering Your Mean GirlYou know that sneaky voice inside your head telling you that you’re not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, whatever enough? That’s your Mean Girl. And she’s doing her best to keep you stuck in Fear Town, too scared to go after the life you always imagined.  Time to shut her up!

2.  The Energy Bus10 secrets for approaching life and work with the kind of positive, forward thinking that leads to true accomplishment - at work and at home. This was such a fun, easy read the left me motivated and ready to make new goals in my personal and professional life!

3.  The Compound Effect: The little things we do everyday, added up over time make a huge difference in our lives.  The habits you know you do, and the habits you don't even realize you're doing. The book helps you take control and lead your life where you want it to go instead of ending up somewhere you didn't even realize you were going.

4.  Girl, Wash Your Face: If you haven't heard of this book yet, I think you might be living under a rock! =)  She takes the lies that holds us back from living our best life and shines a light on the truth.  It's funny, relatable, and empowering!

5. You are a Badass:  This book is full of funny inspiring stories, direct advice, easy exercises and the occasional swear word.  By the end you'll understand why you do things you do, how to love what you can't change, and how to change what you don't love!

Last but certainly not least...BONUS...#6...The Bible!  =)
About 6 years ago I took a Bible 101 class that strengthened my faith immensely.  Ever since then it's continued to grow and when that happens your priorities change.  You start to care less about what the world desires...being a certain size, money, etc. and find so much peace in the things that matter.  Nothing can calm your anxiety, put things in perspective, and give you peace and understanding about life than this book!  =)  If you're interested in the 101 class, let me know!    Whether you leave near or far I can set you up with the lessons!

I hope you like the list and would love to hear if you've read any of these and what you thought!  Or which one you plan on reading first!

Spooktacular Halloween Party Food

Y'all, I'm going to be honest...I don't like crafts, or spending time in the kitchen.  I'd rather sit back with a glass of wine and visit with my friends while they did crafts then actually do them myself!  =)

My mom on the other hand is a ROCKSTAR and has always been creative and artistic.  Every Halloween she has an amazing party for the kids and just goes all out!
She truly is the QUEEN of HALLOWEEN!

She has had some amazing, time consuming, treats for us like the strawberries she turned into chocolate covered mice, snake pizza, or jello-o worms but I asked her about 5 EASY ones that I would actually be up for making for my kids or bringing to an upcoming Halloween party.  I think everyone from the crafty to the not so crafty mom will like these 5 ideas so I hope you enjoy!

1.  Cheeseballs: You can make your own, or just to to the grocery store and pick yourself up one that's already made!  Then you'll mold it into the shape you want!  As you can see, we've done a variety of faces, as well as one that was topped with lunch meat to look like creepy skin!  Super easy and you can use your imagination to form it!  We used plastic eyeballs, olives, plastic bugs, chips, nuts, and candy to help with facial features.

2.  Eyeball Chicken Salad Sandwiches: This is another easy one that allows you to make your own chicken or tuna salad or just buy it already made for the store.  (I think you know which route I would take on this!  Thank you Costco!)  For these you simple cut circles out from your bread and then put a dollop of chicken salad in the middle of each one.  Next lay a sliced olive on top and add veins with ketchup or you can put red food coloring in mayonnaise.
Don't blink or they'll be gone!  (Did you SEE what I did there?)

3.  Pulled Pork Monsters: For these you'll just need pulled pork or shredded barbecue, slider buns, green olives, and toothpicks!  Fill the buns with your meat and use the toothpicks to add 2 olives at the top for eyeballs with some barbecue sauce in the middle for dipping!  These are always a favorite to eat but still add something festive to the table!

4.  Fingers:  My mom has made these in many different ways so I thought I'd give you a few options...

These are peanut butter and jelly rolls that are made by cutting off the crust and flattening your bread down a little bit, applying pb&j and then rolling them up!  She then puts jelly all over them as blood and puts jelly on the back of an almond slice and attaches it as the fingernails.  =)

These are so simple and you'll just need large pretzel sticks, green candy melts (or you can use food coloring to dye white chocolate), almond pieces, and spider rings.  Dip the sticks and apply the almond nail while it's still wet and then let dry and add the spider ring.

For this last option you need Nutter Butter cookies, green candy melts, and red gumdrops.  Dip the cookie in the chocolate and add a gumdrop as the nails...you're done!  =)

5.  Dracula Mouths:  These are so cute and the kids love how they taste!  You'll need chocolate chip cookies, red icing, marshmallows, almond slivers.  Cut the cookies in half, flip it over, and cover the bottom side with icing.  Stick the marshmallows into the icing of 1 half, place the almond as fangs in between some of them.  Add more icing as "glue" if needed.  After you've lined the inside of that side of the cookie, stick the icing side of the other half of the cookie down on top of it like a sandwich and let it set.  Enjoy!!!

These parties are so memorable and my kids look forward to them every year!  I hope you're able to use some of these ideas and make great memories with your family or friends too!  Comment below with your favorite one and PLEASE come back and comment if you use them!   I would LOVE to see pictures of how it turned out!  Let me know if you have any questions about anything!

Now for a trip down memory lane...here's a couple pictures of us at my moms parties!   I had dark hair once for about 2 months, and my sweet babies were itty bitty, haha!!  Have a fun and safe Halloween my friends!

XOXO

Favorite Fall Lippy

I LOVE Fall (incase you didn't notice with all my decorations) but I'm also a girl that loves pink so this time of year I make an effort to put away the BRIGHTS for some nude, maroon, mauve, and orange tones!

For today's #FridayFive, I wanted to share with you my favorite shades for the perfect autumn lippy!  I must admit that this was REALLY hard to narrow down but I didn't want to post too many and overwhelm you!  So here's 5 that come in all different price ranges so you can pick your favorite!

1. "Boy Bye" by Kylie Cosmetics:  $16.  This is a pinky mauve color that I'm obsessed with!  I love the matte finish and it doesn't dry out my lips!

2.  "Ludwig" Everlasting Liquid Lipstick by Kat Von D: $20.  This is another matte finished lip that's not too thick and doesn't dry out.  It's more of a nude tone that can match any color you're wearing!

3. "Somebody to Love" Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment: $26.  This is a rose brown color that feels amazing on!  If you want a darker/bolder more maroon lip, this berry shade is on point, "Rock With You".  This is a high pigmented, full coverage lip formula!

4.  "Copper Spark" Maybelline Lipstick: $7.49.  OMGOSH y'all, this is such a beautiful copper color without being too orange or rusty and the shimmer is subtle and overall perfect for this time of year!

5.  "Forever Chestnut" Maybelline 24 Hour SuperStay: $10.49.  For those of you looking for a long lasting gloss finish, this is an amazing alternative to the more expensive long wear/smudge proof lipsticks out there!  I wore this color all day and then to a football game and as you can see, the color was still going strong! This is a perfect everyday shade and I love that it isn't too brown and reminds me of a caramel apple!

I'm also really looking forward to the Kylie Cosmetics BOO collection coming out on October 12 so you can go to their website anytime after that for more amazing shades!  It's full of festive eyeshadows, highlighter, and lip colors so you should definitley check that out once it's released!!

Keep in mind that all of these colors look different on everyone but let me know if you end up purchasing one of these!!  I'd love to see what shade you picked!  If you post a picture of your color, use the hashtag #fridayfivelips so I can see what you picked and show you some love!!

Do you have another fall favorite shade that I didn't mention?  Comment below so I can check it out because...can one really have to many shades?!
